Hanging Baskets and Planters

 What you need:

Coco coir liners

Hanging baskets

Planters

Potting soil

Earthworm castings

3-4 plants per basket or planter

Buying pre-made hanging baskets and planters can be very costly upwards of 50 dollars or more.  I made these baskets and planters for about 15 dollars a piece and the basket and planter can be reused every year, just needs a refresh of soil and flowers.  

You can really use any annuals in your planters or baskets but my favorites are using sweet potato vine and vinca vine for the waterfall effect.  I use sun patients and supertonics for color all summer as well as their mounding ability.  I like to add geraniums and dahlias to the planters more so than the baskets as there is more soil for them.

Dead head spent flowers

Water well

Fertilize often
